Co-location with The Big 5 results in increased footfall for FM EXPO
DUBAI, November 23, 2011: FM EXPO - the Middle East’s only major event for the facilities management industry today announced a 25 per cent increase in preregistration numbers to the May edition. Significantly exceeding organisers’ expectations , the numbers show promise for the strength of the FM sector across the region.
David Thompson, Exhibition Manager, FM EXPO, said: “This is encouraging news for the entire FM sector and to see such strong attendance just halfway through the show, is indicative of the developing interest in facilities management across the region.”
A collection of key FM players – both new and returning exhibitors – are on hand at this year’s event, including Al Shirawi, Imdaad, MAB Facilities Management, Karcher and MAF Dalkia Middle East.
Navin Valrani, CEO of four time sponsor, Al Shirawi Facilities Management, commented on the success of the event. He said: “Having participated in this event over the past four years, I can say with confidence that the decision to co-locate with The Big 5 has been incredibly beneficial for us. It has resulted in a far more diverse crowd, giving us access to a more varied group of potential clients.”
Ken Hudson, Director of Business Development at MAB FM, added to this sentiment, offering: “This year’s visitors seem more tuned in than ever before. They are approaching us with an increased level of awareness and interest in the FM sector than in previous years. I think this points to the growing maturity of the FM sector, which is encouraging.”
Co-locating with The Big 5 Show was a strategic decision, and according to Thompson, one that offers increased benefits to this year’s exhibitors. He explained, “The Big 5 offers even greater exposure for FM service providers to meet with thousands of players from the construction industry.”
Mr. Jamal Lootah at Imdaad agreed, commenting, “As the largest construction show in the Middle East, The Big 5 draws a range of some of the industry’s biggest players. This is of course an incredible draw for exhibitors who are looking to expand their client base and make the most of networking opportunities at the event.”
This year’s value-packed event offers visitors access to a diverse range of FM products and service providers while creating an important platform for participants to discuss issues affecting the FM markets. With a stronger presence than ever before, the Middle East Facilities Management Association will be on hand to offer advice and expertise on a variety of FM timely topics, including procurement, strata law, health & safety, security and maintenance systems.
FM EXPO, the Middle East’s only exhibition dedicated to the burgeoning facilities management industry, runs from November 21 to 24 at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre. For more information, visit: www.fm-expo.com
